Ginger Bread Man

This is Ginger Bread Man

My sister gave him to me a few years ago.

He hangs on the wall at Christmas time.

The Boyfriend HATES him!

He thinks he comes alive!
He says if we hang him one place,
the next morning he'll be somewhere else.

He's really creeped out by him.

The Boyfriend packed Ginger Bread Man in a box and put him back in the Christmas tub.

Well...........
It's not good to show a weakness in front of me.......

Ginger Bread Man has now been found in his underwear drawer,
in the refrigerator, under the pillow where he sits on the couch
and.........

Tonight I'm going to put him outside the window on The Boyfriends side of the bed!

HA  GOOD TIMES!!!

And thanks to your favorite site and mine, Picnik

I bring you

Angry Gingie!!!

Poor, The Boyfriend
I'm going to frame this and give it to him for Christmas!

Christmas Decorating - Look What I Made!!!

OMG OMG OMG

Look what I made Friday night.......

I need to add more antique cards, but........
seriously,
HOW.
CUTE.

I've had the frame in my shed forever,
like 5 years, forever......

It came from a really, tiny house that was being torn down.
I asked if I could do some antiquing, archeological, digging
before they tore it down.

It was really cute place.  There was a Hoosier that was built in.

And it was RED!

So I tore, cut, beat, drilled, unscrewed, the cupboard doors,
latches, and hinges.

So Friday night it just came to me.........
the clouds parted.....
a beautiful light shown through........

OK it wasn't that dramatic, but it did come to me driving home from work.

All this I had at home in the junk, craft section in my shed.
Except the clothes pins, those I got at my little town hardware store.

First I painted and glittered the clothes pins.

And while they were drying I nailed string back and fourth in the window frame.......
all while making dinner.......

I am truly a Homemaker, Crafter Goddess!

(The Boyfriend did mention the slight sparkles in his baked chicken.....
I acted all hurt and told him I was trying to make a
Special Christmas Dinner
and he ruined everything.......like a little glitter ever hurt anybody......?)

And it then it just started to come together!!

I added some little Christmas ornaments.

And there you have it!
I LOVE it!!!

Yesterday The Boyfriend and I went out looking for more frames so I could make one for my sister.......not so much!  The ones I found at antique stores they wanted $40 to $50 bucks for!
I need to drive around and look for more houses being torn down.

Tomorrow the really great FIND at the antique store!

Christmas

Well hey there!

Looonnng weekend, I was crazy busy.

A really good friend of mine, in fact I've know her since grade school...
Boy that's a long time.....
We are having our 30 Year Reunion this year to give you some idea
just how many years.

A reunion I am supposed to be throwing together
by the way,
in my spare time....
AND that is a whole other blog!

Anyway, she is adopting a beautiful little girl from Ethiopia
and we have been getting everything ready.
The way things have worked out she will be
home with them Christmas Eve.
Now how awesome is that!!!

So I have been helping her work on her house and also everybody and their brother wants me to decorate their houses and trees for Christmas.

So this is what my house looks like....

Nice!
Christmas, Thanksgiving MESS!

I did manage to one thing last night......

I LOVE mason jars!  You can do so much with them.

These guys are in my kitchen window.

The first one I put nuts in for that fall, Thanksgiving look.

They might be Hazelnuts.....???
I don't know my nuts too well......
I found them on the ground on a trip to West Virginia a few years ago.
When I'm done with Thanksgiving I pack em in a zip lock for next year.

The last one has buttons in it, buttons from my Grandma's sewing box.

Moving on.......
for Christmas I fill them with candy!

Then..............

Grab some of these guys.
Some of these little votive guys I got at my favorite store and yours
IKEA!
And the other ones I got at Good Will for .50 each!

Add some votive candles.........

Oh my...... I can hardly wait.........

And there you have it!!!

Whose in the Christmas spirit now!!!

My sister and I call this Display Candy!

The Nephew and all his friends have learned to ask before you eat....

Display Candy is packed away and reused year after year....
It's not meant to be eaten!

Just ask The Nephew's poor friend who dug into the
Display Candycorn at Halloween......
It wasn't pretty
