Empty Frames and TV Room

So just in case you hadn't heard it was really cold here last week.....

Enough with the whining, already!!!

Since I got 2 days off from work I did do some fun stuff around the house.
Did I mention I had no water last week....

I love this mirror but it just wasn't doing it for me......

Last summer on the way to Iowa my sister and I stopped in 
Walnut, 
Walnut Iowa


ANTIQUE HEAVEN!


Such a cute town, brick streets, and an antique store on every corner!
And THE nicest people in the world!


In one store we found all these old frames......
after some negotiations.....


We got them all for $20!
Even included the round one, ya, all!!

They all needed a lot on tender loving care!
Not to mention the old, moldy smell.
Thank goodness Colorado is dry so over time the smell fades away.


So what do you think?

And while we are on the subject.....


This is the room before:

The bed I was selling on Craig List last year.
The room was a child's room and it had red tile all over the floor.....
red, cold, like patio tile....
warm....?


I changed it into my TV, dollhouse room.


My house is only 800 sq ft, ya gotta be creative!

Just laid laminate right over the tile!
Worked out just fine!

Thar She Blows........

The crawl space of doom!

What a long week and weekend.........

My pipes froze last Tuesday, no water alllll week!

And then the pipes broke Thursday night!

I had to crawl in there people, with gallons of water pouring on me.

I couldn't get the water main shut off.......

wait for it....

BECAUSE IT WAS FROZEN!!!

I had to call the fire department and they had to shut it off at the street.

No plumbers available on Friday,

Finally Saturday night!

WATER!!

Thank you Mr. Rooter Rooter Man!!!

Here's the break....

Oh and it's going to happen all over tonight.....

more snow and below zero!

COME ON SPRING!

STILL FROZEN.........Help!

Dear Diary,

The pipes are still frozen, no running water for 2 days now.

Last night only 21 below, day before 40 below.

I don't know how much longer I can survive.....

Must.

Brush.

Teeth.

Hey the horse tank is heated......

Move over Dillion.......

Keep your fingers crossed my pipes don't break!

Old farm houses are awesome

but they are no match for

21 below nights!!!!!!

My Rosemary Pot Make Over

Since it's winter I had to bring my Rosemary and Basil in the house.

The Basil didn't like the move and died.

Darn it - I love my sweet Basil!

I've been staring at this pot for months and I hate it......

So what do you do..........?

Find some burlap in the shed..........

A little bit of good ole Elmers,

add a little string.......

Ahhhhhhhh 

More better!!!!

As a side note

Here in Colorado we have a saying,

"if you don't like the weather .....

wait a minute"

Friday it was 72 and today......

a whopping 14 below!!???

I had to bring my old, man rooster in the mud room last night

No alarm clock needed this morning!!!!  

Wow is he loud!

I really loved it and saved the photos.

Some are just tan, some are black and white. There is a white kitchen with

everybody's cutie Nate!

So that night I was thinking I need to do 

something like that on my walls.......

Duhhh........I already had

These are all family photos,

Great Grandparents, Great Uncles, Aunts and my parents.

So the moral of the story is,

I need to spend more time in my dinning room, 

and or quit thinkin the grass is greener....

I didn't do such a bad job!

Jane's Junk!

So this hangs on the side of my chicken coop.

As of a few days ago it didn't have the chicken pictures.

Ya see it was going to snow last week so I put this window in the shed

so it doesn't get wet and fall apart.

Remember the old small house down the street that was being tore down...

the same place I got all my hardware for my cupboard doors.

This I found in the fallen down barn.

So anyway.......

 it was cold and I didn't make it to the shed and I brought it in the house.

And after walking by it a few times I remembered some

chicken pictures in my junk  craft drawer!

And look how cute!!!

Now I want it in the house and not on the chicken coop!

Oh and lets not forget the latch! 

Ya know how I love my old hardware!
