Christmas Decorating - Look What I Made!!!

OMG OMG OMG

Look what I made Friday night.......

I need to add more antique cards, but........
seriously,
HOW.
CUTE.

I've had the frame in my shed forever,
like 5 years, forever......

It came from a really, tiny house that was being torn down.
I asked if I could do some antiquing, archeological, digging
before they tore it down.

It was really cute place.  There was a Hoosier that was built in.

And it was RED!

So I tore, cut, beat, drilled, unscrewed, the cupboard doors,
latches, and hinges.

So Friday night it just came to me.........
the clouds parted.....
a beautiful light shown through........

OK it wasn't that dramatic, but it did come to me driving home from work.

All this I had at home in the junk, craft section in my shed.
Except the clothes pins, those I got at my little town hardware store.

First I painted and glittered the clothes pins.

And while they were drying I nailed string back and fourth in the window frame.......
all while making dinner.......

I am truly a Homemaker, Crafter Goddess!

(The Boyfriend did mention the slight sparkles in his baked chicken.....
I acted all hurt and told him I was trying to make a
Special Christmas Dinner
and he ruined everything.......like a little glitter ever hurt anybody......?)

And it then it just started to come together!!

I added some little Christmas ornaments.

And there you have it!
I LOVE it!!!

Yesterday The Boyfriend and I went out looking for more frames so I could make one for my sister.......not so much!  The ones I found at antique stores they wanted $40 to $50 bucks for!
I need to drive around and look for more houses being torn down.

Tomorrow the really great FIND at the antique store!

Blog Friend.......

There are millions of decorating sites out there
MILLIONS.

I am so addicted to them, I could sit around for hours looking at them all.
And I do.......

I get such great ideas for my house and the houses I decorate.

Some sites are not really my style and them some sites I love!

Some sites I want to go junking with these ladies!

Lisa at Serendipity is one of those girls.

She has such cute stuff and great ideas!
We have the same taste!
We see the end product out of something some people would throw away,
and we both think Anthropoligie furniture is way to expensive! ha

She hit her 100th Follower and she is having a Give Away!

How cute is that sign!!!!!

http://serendipitychicdecor.blogspot.com/

Here is her link, check her out!

I wish we didn't live on the other side of the country from each other,
between her and I we could have an awesome shop!!!

Christmas

Well hey there!

Looonnng weekend, I was crazy busy.

A really good friend of mine, in fact I've know her since grade school...
Boy that's a long time.....
We are having our 30 Year Reunion this year to give you some idea
just how many years.

A reunion I am supposed to be throwing together
by the way,
in my spare time....
AND that is a whole other blog!

Anyway, she is adopting a beautiful little girl from Ethiopia
and we have been getting everything ready.
The way things have worked out she will be
home with them Christmas Eve.
Now how awesome is that!!!

So I have been helping her work on her house and also everybody and their brother wants me to decorate their houses and trees for Christmas.

So this is what my house looks like....

Nice!
Christmas, Thanksgiving MESS!

I did manage to one thing last night......

I LOVE mason jars!  You can do so much with them.

These guys are in my kitchen window.

The first one I put nuts in for that fall, Thanksgiving look.

They might be Hazelnuts.....???
I don't know my nuts too well......
I found them on the ground on a trip to West Virginia a few years ago.
When I'm done with Thanksgiving I pack em in a zip lock for next year.

The last one has buttons in it, buttons from my Grandma's sewing box.

Moving on.......
for Christmas I fill them with candy!

Then..............

Grab some of these guys.
Some of these little votive guys I got at my favorite store and yours
IKEA!
And the other ones I got at Good Will for .50 each!

Add some votive candles.........

Oh my...... I can hardly wait.........

And there you have it!!!

Whose in the Christmas spirit now!!!

My sister and I call this Display Candy!

The Nephew and all his friends have learned to ask before you eat....

Display Candy is packed away and reused year after year....
It's not meant to be eaten!

Just ask The Nephew's poor friend who dug into the
Display Candycorn at Halloween......
It wasn't pretty

Side note on my closet......

Yes you can enter the bathroom from my closet!
How perfect is that for a girl.

My new blog friend Sarah asked that question.

This is her blog.
She is hil ar ious!!!
Her blogs make me laugh out loud,
not LOL
Really, they make me laugh. out. loud.!!

Check her out!!!

My New Closet

Drum roll please...............

Yes that is a boa hanging from the window!
A gift from my Mom......funny story.....
Her neighbor passed away, she was in her 80's
and when her daughter was cleaning out her place she found
a red, pink and black boa!

Mom, snagged the red one for me.

And no, nobody knows the story there......

This side is all shelves for sweaters, jeans and jewelry.

I have tons of fun jewelry and I like it out so I can see it.
That way when I'm getting dressed in my fabulous closet I can accessorize at the same time!

Rachel Zoe says you can never accessorize too much!
I do love my Rachel Zoe......she is a little eccentric.....
and really needs to eat a sandwich,
 but I still love her!!!

What, what is that you say........
Why yes that is a tiera...........
Don't you have one???

I wear mine while cleaning the house,
doing laundry,
 cleaning the chicken coop.....whatever......

A tiera just makes a girl feel good.

Years ago I went to visit a friend of mine in Florida and all the ladies on her block had a tiera!
I loved it!
These girls were so gorgeous in their sweats and tieras!
They all wore them everywhere!
Mowing the lawn, jogging, walking the kids to the bus!
I am not kidding they all had one!
The whole block!!!

Be the first on your block.....?

Back to my closet,
the next bestest thing about my closet

LOVE IT   LOVE IT   LOVE IT

IKEA.......like, $30.00!

If I ever get really rich I want a really big closet so I can have a
big, puffy, purple velvet sofa in it.
So I can just hang out....and lounge.....
and count my shoes.......

Closet Remodel

Old houses don't have closets.......
What is up with that?
Weren't there Fashionistas in the 1900's?

My closet had been added in some time through
all the remodels before me.

It was just a regular closet,
way too small for this
clothes/shoes/purse whore!

So remember the strange little sink area that was in my bathroom.....

My closet was just on the other side of the wall........

So I tore it out!!!!

It was a ton of work!
But so worth it!!!!

Tomorrow................

My beautiful closet!!!!!
